Hi Jimmy, thanks for the comment.

What kind of problems did you encounter with your print shipments from Mpix? I'm curious because I've never had any problems with Mpix...

Thanks,

~Eugene

I agree about the tube to a degree. It seems nicer to get the print not in a cheap tube but I must admit that I have had more problems with MPIX prints being shipped flat. I don't use either anymore but now use Finerworks. They ship in tubes unless it is a large volume but keep in mind that the paper comes from rolls so curling out is the natural state anyway. To flatten them I have a large roll of craft paper that I use to roll it in the opposite direction once I get the print. That seems to do a good job.

[...] Q: Is there a difference in print finishes between the two print order choices? A: Yes, ordering prints through Fotomoto (using the “purchase a print” option above the photos), you can get prints with a lustre or glossy finish; ordering prints through Mpix (i.e. using the “purchase a print” link below the photos), you can get prints with a metallic finish (which is my favourite, and I highly recommend metallic prints).
I don't follow one thing specifically really, just because I don't like to be online all the time. But, I enjoy following blogs of people I know. It's a way to keep in touch with people you may not see as often as you'd like. Even if I stumble upon a blog or website of someone I don't know, I think the thing that may keep me coming back the most is personal experience. If a photoblog, for example, has great pictures to keep me interested, that's one thing. But if the description of the photo tells a story or experience about why the photo means something to the photographer or why he/she decided to take it, then it keeps me interested. In a similar way to keeping up with a blog of a friend, when there are stories, it feels like I am more involved and can be part of what the photo shows.

Since I don't follow Twitter accounts or engage in contests all of the time, my input may not be exactly the type of thing that is of interest, but it gives a little different perspective.
